Ideas: Earring storage & display

I have these kind of 'storage' ideas randomly, and I've always wanted to share them, just in case anyone else is in a situation needing earring/scarf/everything storage ideas. I've passed up doing it so many times only because I sometimes think "Everyone probably knows about this". Well now I'm throwing it at you guys whether you know or not! It could help someone right?
So here you have it, a vintage fan to hang your dangly earrings so they don't have to get all caught up in your jewelry box. It's cute and gives you an excuse reason to buy that pretty little fan at the thrift store. (even when you already have several throughout your home)

Let's start here

...just ignore all the posts I have posted within the past month. I was 'transferring' from my other blog, as easy as blogger would let me (one by one).
Welcome to my work in progress, it's a little bare now, but I think it'll get cozy through time. I'm sure most of you reading this already know me, but if not, I'll lay a few things on the table of introductions.
I'm bailey (hi bailey), I am 16 and I spend my days in thrift stores, and finding new ways to craft my life away. That's what you'll see here, along with ideas, photos, and other random babbling. Feel free to say hello! I enjoy talking to other bloggers.
Let's get to it then, shall we?
Last weekend I got off my lazy butt and gave this shelf a home.

Where it now sits bright orange with all kinds of knick knacks upon it's shelves. I plan to paint the base of that fan sometime soon. I'm thinking an aqua-y green. Everything else on my shelves is a little temporary. But that's basically the case for everything in my room.
I think that's about all for post one. Enjoy my random shelf pictures to the right.

You can comment me on here, or email me at

Happy Monday everyone!

Drawers to Shelves

See those there? Those are Drawers. Point and Shoot captured drawers.
I successfully made them into a shelving system, because I was desperate for places for my pretty owls and such. I got the idea from here, but I only used square drawers, so it has a different look completely. After a long search for a large map to cover the entire back of each shelf, and being unsuccessful, I decided to mix and match. I used Spray glue to adhere the paper to the drawer. Super easy, and I love it.

UPDATE 7/30/11: I obviously didn't put the maps on well enough, they started to peel. Luckily I was tired of them anyways. I stacked them all in one column, and will hopefully sometime get around to a new paint job. I'm thinking bright colors and chevron.
I'll update you will the completely finished photo soon. For now here's a DSLR photo of the recent change.
