CAKE waffles

I just want to make sure you guys know this is possible. I don't know why I never thought of it before, but I'm glad some random photo popped up in front of my face with the caption "Cake waffles make homemade icecream sandwich" CAKE waffles. I decided to try the ice cream part later. I had a yellow cake mix in the kitchen and I didn't waste any time. I wasn't sure about the amount of cake batter needed in round one- I made a mess my mother would cringe at. (And that easy clean waffle maker is a lie!) Round two was better, only... 10 more rounds to go.

Waffles were coming out the ying yang. Luckily my Mom loves cake more than eating actual food, and made them disappear before they went bad. I had icing in the fridge that I put on some, whipped cream too. But they were delicious plain. I imagine myself in the future making waffle cakes for my children instead of birthday cakes. Yes, waffle cakes can do this to me.

So simply enough, use cake batter exactly like you would waffle batter. And don't use too much like a fool, because that's a mess no one needs to encounter.
Have a great day errrbody!

Peanut butter + strawberry bagel

Best breakfast/snack ever, possibly? Anything is good with strawberries. Try this combo: Toasted plain bagel, Honey roast peanut butter, and sliced strawberries.
Have a relaxing Sunday, folks.

week loves No. 2

1\\ Delicious looking sandwiches keep me drooling. This one especially.
2\\ I've been thinking a lot about hand written communication lately. I want to have a stack of letters- from anyone - to read over. Not emails or text messages. But I'm mostly close to everyone I'd write to. I've sort of silently decided I'll start doing this when I move away for college.
3\\ Quilts! My goal this summer is to sit my happy butt down and make one. A large one, too. Maybe not a pretty scalloped one for my first- this babies' hand stitched. I'll get to it sooner or later.
4\\ I've been dreaming of bonsai for weeks. I have to get some special soil mixture before I get one of my own, but this red and white Japanese Maple bonsai may be the winner.
5\\ I've been ogling puppy pictures lately. Not that I'm searching, seven dogs here is enough. But who can resist a cute little greyhound? Future pup, maybe.
6\\ Delicate jewelry has been popping up all over my pinterest. These bracelets are my favorites, especially the arrow. But, their anthro, you know.
Have a wonderful Friday + weekend

Scarf braided crown

heyo guys! Today I'm here to share a little something I've been doing recently with my hair. I usually battle with myself every summer finding ways to keep my hair off of my neck in this crazy humid Missouri weather. This is my new favorite for my long hair. It's a little snazzier than your average milkmaid braid, but just as easy. Just roll with me on this as I call it a scarf braided crown, okay?

 Length: Long hair
Supplies: Bobby pins, scarf
scarf braided crown 1\\ Part hair into two sections on the side you want your crown to start.
2\\ Bobby pin your scarf between the two sections
3\\ Start with the section of hair coming from the back of your head, and braid until you can no more!
4\\ Pull tight and bring over the top of your head. This is a good time to manipulate any stinkin hair that sticks up or poofs up at the start of your crown. Bobby pin it wherever the braid ends.
5\\ Secure your braid with a bobby pin at the top, and anywhere else it feels wiggly.
6\\ Twist or just bring your scarf behind your head, tuck it over the start of the braid on the other side, and pin it.
Some scarves may be too large. Before I give up on a scarf, I try folding it different ways to make it shorter. The larger ones, for instance, work better when you fold them into a skinny rectangle, rather than starting with a triangle fold.
I hope this helps solve your summer hair, too.
Have a wonderful day!
